Emissions Reduction Targets

This is the first year of reporting for P&S Healthcare Limited. We intend that by the year 2050 that we will have achieved a Net Zero carbon status.

With the implementation of the reduction projects outlined below, we project that over the next 7 years, to the year 2030, we will see a reduction to between 470 and 500 tCO2e. This is a reduction of around 8-10% Below is a graph showing our target emissions from the 2022 baseline figure to the Net Zero target that has been set for 2050.

Carbon Reduction Targets 2022 to 2050

P&S Healthcare is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and minimizing its impact on the environment. This carbon reduction plan outlines the initiatives and projects that have been implemented to date and proposes further measures to be undertaken in the future. P&S Healthcare recognizes the importance of taking action to address climate change and is determined to make a positive impact.

Carbon Reduction Initiatives Completed or in Progress

The following environmental management measures and projects have already been implemented, using our 2022 baseline as a starting point for emissions which we will continue to improve upon year on year reaching net zero by 2050: Sourcing Renewable Energy: We have begun sourcing renewable energy with the aim of transitioning to 100% renewable energy usage as soon as possible. This will significantly reduce our carbon emissions associated with energy consumption.

Energy Waste Reduction

We have implemented measures to minimize energy waste within our facilities, ensuring that all non-working areas have reduced electric usage. This includes optimizing lighting, heating, and cooling systems.

Promotion of Video Conferencing

We actively encourage our staff to utilize video conferencing for meetings whenever possible, reducing the need for travel. This measure contributes to lowering carbon emissions associated with transportation.

Review of Current Packaging

As part of the internal review, which was conducted to determine areas of improvement, it was noted that we could improve the sustainability of our packaging. We are currently in talks with our packing suppliers to transition to packaging which is made from reusable material. Once the correct packaging has been sourced this will be implemented into our production process.

New Product Development

P&S Healthcare actively develops products that contribute to the country’s overall carbon footprint. In the last few years, we have designed and produced a multiuse sanitary pant and we are currently in the process of producing current products in more carbon neutral fabrics. New product development such as this directly contributes to reducing the country's overall carbon footprint.

Future Carbon Reduction Measures

In addition to the initiatives already mentioned, P&S Healthcare aims to implement the following measures in the future:

ISO 14001 Certification

P&S Healthcare will work towards obtaining ISO 14001 certification within the next five years. This internationally recognized standard for environmental management systems will help us establish a robust framework for continuous improvement in reducing our environmental impacts.

Sustainable and Renewable Raw Materials

We will prioritize sourcing sustainable and renewable raw materials, thereby minimizing the environmental footprint associated with our manufacturing processes. This will involve reviewing our supply chain and collaborating with suppliers who share our commitment to carbon reduction.

Supplier Engagement

P&S Healthcare will require suppliers to report their carbon footprint data, enabling us to improve the accuracy of our carbon measurements. We will actively engage with our current suppliers to identify areas where carbon emissions can be reduced, supporting our goal of achieving net-zero emissions.

Product Evaluation

We will thoroughly evaluate all products purchased by P&S Healthcare, with a focus on improving efficiency and reducing environmental impacts. This includes efforts to minimize single-use plastics and reduce paper usage wherever possible.

Commuting Emissions Reduction

P&S Healthcare will target reductions in emissions resulting from commuting to and from work. We will encourage our staff to utilize low-carbon transport methods, such as walking, cycling, car sharing, and electric transportation, wherever feasible. This initiative will be supported by awareness campaigns and incentivization.

Collaboration and Budgeting

P&S Healthcare will collaborate with key individuals within the organization to develop carbon reduction plans. This will involve setting carbon budgets, establishing targets, and working closely with our suppliers to identify and implement emission reduction strategies, ultimately leading to our net-zero emissions goal. When engaging with new suppliers and customers we will share our carbon reduction plan with relevant suppliers and discuss how we can work together to achieve our goals.

Ongoing and continuous review and improvement: We believe that ongoing review will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effectiveness and success of our carbon reduction plan. By regularly assessing our progress, identifying areas for enhancement, and adapting to evolving circumstances, we can strengthen our sustainability efforts and contribute to meaningful change.
